I rescued a chihuahua named Sugar Baby,not knowing that she was going to have puppies. I was totally surprised to realize just a few weeks before she had her pups that she was not just getting "fat and healthy"! When the puppies were born, we learned that they were part yorkie. I really wanted to keep them,but we already had two dogs in our small home. But my special needs daughter's heart was broken. One of the puppies had a cleft palate, and she wanted to keep him. In my fictional story, I used this true event to weave  heart warming story for dog lovers of all ages.
